Current Research Topics
HERC’s research spans a broad array of industries
SUSTAINABILITY & SUSTAINIZABILITY INDICES
HERC ranks entities using proprietary techniques into lists and associated indices that describe how sustainable these entities are, and how they can be made more sustainable upon implementation of recommended actions and changes.
THERMOCHEMICAL WATER-SPLITTING CYCLE
The incorporation of a patented water-splitting thermochemical cycle in a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant is being studied.
HYDROGEN FILLUP
Novel hydrogen fillup strategies are developed to attain reduced capital and operating expenditures in hydrogen fueling stations, thus accelerating the onset of the hydrogen economy.
EQUILIBRIUM STUDIES IN ATOMIC SPACE
A general reaction equilibrium framework is developed using Gibbs free energy minimization in atomic/species space. Application include carbon formation in steam reforming, dry reforming, methanation, water gas shift and reverse water gas shift reactions.
ECOLOGICAL SYSTEMS AND CLIMATE CHANGE
Analysis of Carbon cycle, and development of sustainizing policies. Focus on sustainability and sustainizability of natural habitats, population growth, communicable diseases and pandemics.
STRATEGY AND POLICY PLANNING
Research on best advice for policy makers to implement in real estate land and development, energy consumption, water usage, and use of natural resources through risk analysis and optimization.
